I love that first meal of the day. I try to enjoy a cozy, calm, comfy breakfast since after that it will surely be a busy day. One of the most cozy, calm, comfy foods that exists for breakfast is oatmeal. Snuggling up to a steaming bowl is my kind of morning. Since we have it often around here, I like to mix it up by playing with flavors. Turmeric has been a spice "toy" of choice lately (see last week's curry), and as I experimented with turmeric in oatmeal, Thai flavors came to mind: banana, lime, coconut, ginger.
